If it wasn’t for the stone building on the right, it would be quite a challenge to discover where the photographer stood to capture this peaceful, residential street scene from the early years of the 1900s.
The scene on the next page is the same block. The current foot bridge over Broadway is at the original ground level. The house seen through the trees on the right was the Tainter family home. Jeter/Tainter/Cal- lahan Hall is there today.
